Family Chores??

Tuesday, January 12, 2010

Do you have chores for your children? Do they actually do them? We have a few set chores for our kids. They are still young but have things such as making beds, brushing teeth, cleaning rooms/toys. The 5 year old now has to feed the dog as well. But sometimes these simple chores do not get done. I can across a great website, My Job Chart, that will have their daily chores on there for them and they even have their own log in so that you know they did it. You assign points to each chore and when and also have rewards. Rewards are things you want to set up, dinner out, making cookies, time with mom or dad. You can even set something bigger like, camping, Disneyland or anything of that nature. When they reach the set point level for that reward they can cash in their points. What a great concept and idea.

It is free to join and just might help get your family back on track this new year. Be sure to check it out. myjobchart.com

Product Warranty/Guarantee

Tuesday, January 5, 2010

Ever have a product that you absolutely love then it starts to fall apart? It hasn't been very long but don't know where to get it fixed. We have recently had that problem in our home. About 4 years ago I bought my husband some Qwaruba slippers for Christmas. They are in my personal opinion some of the best slippers out there. I have a pair that he got me 5 years ago. Mine are great, not a problem. But with my husband's the stitching started to come undone where the sole meets the slipper. He is all about the concept that slippers are for in your home and no where else. (my opinion is a little different and wear them everywhere). I thought that this is odd and wanted to see if they would repair them or let us know where to take them to. Even though they are 4 years old he has not worn them in the past year because of the stitching.

I looked all over the web to find a contact page for the company. No luck. So then I turned tothe REI website where I bought them, to see if they had some info for me. They let me know that they have a 100% product guarantee on all their products no matter what. They said just to bring them in for a refund or exchange. My husband brought them in today and wah-la he got brand new slippers.

Moral to this story is that you never know if the company is willing to replace the product or pay to repair for free for you. All it takes is maybe 5 minutes online and the worst they can do is say no.

Stockpiling How to

Monday, January 4, 2010

Many people have seen my extra pantry (aka the spare bedroom) and see all this extra food and ask how I got it. 30 jars of Ragu all stacked together and that I got them all for free! They really can't believe it. Stockpiling is not something you can do overnight but little by little like most things. It also takes a lot of patience and hauling little girls into about a million Walgreens. Even if you are not an 'extreme' couponer you can still start your stock pile.

Melissa over at Melissa's Bargin Blog. Has made up a great list of things you can stock up on THIS week.

A variety of things from $.50 Juicy juice, $.17 Hunts tomato sauce to $.50 cereal. Check out her post HERE, you will not be disappointed.

Johnson & Johnson
There's a new coupon at Coupons.com that works great with the deal at Walgreen's this week. Johnson's products (5 to 15 oz) are $2.99 this week, This coupon is for $2 off a 10 oz or larger Johnson and Johnson product, making them $.99.

MIA: Sorry

Sorry for being missing for so long. We are still hunting for employment for my husband. So all the extra time I am usually on blogging has been used for the hunt. I feel bad jumping on even more neglecting my family. I will try my best to post deals as much as I can. Please check back to see if I am back up and going and that my hubby has found a job.

Thanks so sticking it out with me.
