Christmas Lights : GE Energy Smart Lights

Saturday, October 24, 2009

Do you have a Clark W. Griswald at your house? I have to admit that it is me in my house. I love to have fun light. I think I am rubbing off on my oldest as well though too. Since the stores are already shoving the Christmas Decor down our throats I thought we might as well be prepared.

Here is a coupon for $3 off a box of GE Energy Smart LED lights. Coupon good through Christmas Eve.

DVD:$10 off Tinkerbell and the Lost Treasure

Follow this link for a $10 coupon off the Blu-Ray DVD combo. Tinkerbell and the Lost Treasure comes out this Tuesday. The coupon expires on Halloween.

Safeway: Free Ragu

Friday, October 23, 2009

Again little slow to this deal. I knew about it but couldn't remember if Safeway was tripling this week. Well they are doing better than that, they are taking coupons up to x5! So all coupons $.20 and above will double/triple/quadruple/quintuple (not sure what the x5 is) up to $1.00.

Ragu is currently on sale for $.99. All flavors including the Alfredo sauce too. Use the $.30/1 coupon expiring 11/8, and you get it for free. There is a limit of 4 per transaction. Hubby and I went there on part of our date night tonight and did 5 transactions. All of which equaled $0.00. The self check out lady was a little confused and in shock. I love it when they are stunned and in awe that coupons can really get you things you use for free. I only order 20 additional coupons and wished I had order more. So I just placed another order for 30. Hey we can live off noodles and sauce for a year if we need to right? I hope it gets here by Tuesday, but I think it will. Collectable Coupons still has a bunch. They are fairly new and i love that they ship the same day order (if order placed before 5pm MST). There link is at the top of the page.

EDITED: Up to 50 free jars of Ragu, Although we gave 12 away to some friends. Lovin this deal!

Toys R Us: $30 for Trio toys for only $5!

So here's the deal. Toys R Us, has a lot of their toys buy 2 get 1 free. Trio toys are part of this program. Not as good as the deal last time but still good in my opinion. Here is the scenario.

(you will need to register with FP to print, then go back about 3-4 screens to print multiple coupons)
TRU will give you one FREE - $10

Another deal with TRU is candy, not the place you think of for candy but it is the best deal at the moment. Many bags are on sale for $1.75 (skittles, Reeses, Kit Kat, Snickers, Twix) there have also been some great coupons in the paper lately for these as well.

*follow the scenarios above for further "rolling" ideas

Some helpful tips:
*At Walgreens, you cannot do a promotion more than once in a transaction and earn Register Rewards. So, if you buy more than 1 Halls cough drops this week, you will not earn more than 1 RR. You will only get $1.

*You also cannot use the Register Rewards earned from a promotion on the same promotion and earn Register Rewards again. For example, if you buy Halls cough drops, get a $1 RR and use it to buy another Halls cough drops, another RR will not print.

*Typically, you cannot use the Register Rewards earned from a promotion with the same manufacturer and earn Register Rewards again. For example, you cannot buy a Vaseline lotion and use the RR from the promotion to buy another Vaseline lotion because your RR will not print.

Here is information on the manufacturers for this week's RR (thanks HCW!):
Vaseline = Unilever
Emergen C = Alacer
Chapstick = Wyeth
Fusion Razor = P & G
Robitussin = Wyeth

My add ons: Theraflu/Triaminic/Excedrin = Novartis, Zantac = GSK

*Register Rewards are considered to be "manufacturer's coupons" and you can only use one manufacturer's coupon per item. You will have to add "filler" items. The in ad coupons often have good, inexpensive filler items. (this week, my favorite fillers are the Halloween pencils, the Halloween coloring books, and the Scotch mailers)

*If you are buying items that would result in a "free" item or "overage" when combining a store coupon and a manufacturer's coupon, give the manufacturer's coupon FIRST, and the store coupons LAST to avoid beeping/issues at the register! Make sure that you are purchasing enough items in your total transaction to "cover" the overage. You will not get cash back and you will have to add items to cover the overage or they will not take the coupon.

*If your Register Reward doesn't print for some reason and you have fulfilled all of the obligations for the "deal" (including not using RR from the same parent company to pay) DO NOT let them tell you it is because you used coupons! Chances are they didn't print because the catalina machine is not working. You have two choices: you can return your items and try again or you can contact the catalina company by doing the following:
*The store will give you a form to fill out and mail in to catalina
*Call 1-888-8coupon, option 3

Thanks Melissa!

Target: Baby Gear Sale

Friday, October 16, 2009

So I just scored a car seat for $12.50. (like this but in brown)A lot of them are 75% off. Mine is the Graco Comfort Sport , originally $79. It is almost like the one I have but airlines threw it around so much with daughter #1 that the Styrofoam sides broke. So I have been hunting around for a while for a deal. They had a couple of infant carriers too, but I didn't get the style. They were Graco too I believe. They also have swings 30%,

Everyone is always looking for a little extra income these days. I came across a great one that helps make a few extra here and there without doing too much. ReadySite is a great ad company where you can put extra little advertisements on your blog. It is really simple. You go online to register, and once approved you have access to customize your ads. When someone is visiting you blog and they click the link, you get credit. I think it is great in a matter of minutes I already had almost $5 in my account. Not a ton, but it all adds up. You set when you want your payout threshold to be. Mine is at $100. So all you do is set it up, add to your blog, then when you least expect it, you get a check in the mail.

Click on the link on the right side bar to join. For some reason the linky on the picture is not working right. You also get $25 free just for joining. That is just awesome! Enjoy your free cash and hopefully we can go out holiday shopping.

Making Money at Home: Mystery Shopping

I have been asked to write a post about mystery shopping for a while now and am finally getting around to writing it. I have been a mystery shopper for a little over 5 years now. I think it is a lot of fun. I always hate it when I get bad customer service so this helps the customer service industry make the customers feel a little more at ease.

Many, many different stores hire mystery shoppers. I have done a variety of stores including banks, video gaming stores, grocery stores, outlet stores, bowling alleys, fast food, up-scale restaurants, even apartments and new home builders. The list can go on and on. One way to really bring extra income into your home is doing mystery shops at places you usually shop in the first place. Many shops do not require anything out of pocket, such as the banks, but some will require a small purchase in which you will be reimbursed for. Why not do the shop for 'Albertsons' buy $10 worth of grocerys you would normally buy, visit the required departments and talk to a few employees. Then go home fill out your report, and wah-la you are reimbursed $10 and paid $15 for your time. ($$ are estimated)

Here are a few tips:
*Never pay to become a mystery shopper! - 9 times out of 10 it will be a scam. You will pay $50 out of pocket for them to get you jobs and you will never see any. All legit companies are free to sign-up.

*Sign up for as many as possible - This seems pretty logicial but when signing up it is a pretty monotonous task. But the more companies you sign up for the more chances you have for getting a job. Also if a company says they do not have any in your area, that doesn't mean they won't have some in the future.

*Get a separate email account for mystery shopping - Once you get going, you will get anywhere from 50-100 emails a day offering shops. If you use your personal email it gets your inbox filling up very quickly. Yahoo, hotmail, gmail are just a few that offer free emails.

*Listen to other shoppers - Shoppers cannot disclose what company shops which store, but they can tell you which companies are good with paying you your fees.

*Get MSPA certified - The Mystery Shopping Providers Association offers a silver and gold certification. Both of which can now be done online. I think of the silver certification as an Associates degree and the Gold Certification as a bachelors. Some companies look to see if you have extra qualifications. Many times you can get more shops if you have the extra qualifications.

*Go to Mystery Shopper Forums - Visit Volition.com and see the list of companies that are shopper approved. They will give you extra insight if the company is in your area and if they shops 'big box, restaurants, hotel, etc'

Remember this is not a 'great rich quick' sort of thing. It will take a while before you are able to get your monthly income up. After shopping for a while, you will start to have companies contact you directly about doing a shop rather than putting it on the boards. I will start to do spotlights on different companies I have shopped for.

Happy Shopping

Post-It Coupon

There is a $1 off any Post-it product coupon HERE. I saw at Walgreens yesterday that they have some addition post-its that are on clearance for $.50. This would be a great money maker, plus help your little ones with their addition.

Walmart: Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs

Heigh-Ho, Heigh-Ho it's off to Walmart I go .... This Tuesday 10/6 is the release of Snow White and the Seven Dwarf’s Diamond Edition. During the first week after its release Walmart will be selling the Blu-Ray/DVD combo pack for $19.99. Use this printable coupon (IE Link) (FF Link), to get the combo for $9.96.
But the savings don't stop there!! There’s also a rebate offered by Hefty: get $5 back via mail when you buy the Blue-Ray or DVD PLUS one Hefty Plate, Easy Grip Cup or Baggies Product. Get it for only $4.96 after coupon and rebate offer. Thanks Stephanie!
Here is another way to get your Snow White for cheap without even leaving your home. You can get the same great deal while buying it on Amazon. See Saving with Shelly for more details. THanks Jimmy!
You can actually get the movie for free (with the exception of tax). Jen went to Toys R Us and they are having a promo where you get a $5 gift card when you purchase the movie. It is priced at $19.99 but then you use the $10 coupon, which brings the price to $9.99. You then get a $5 gift card (to be used on your next purchase) which in essence brings the price down to $5. After you use one of the mail in rebates, then basically all you are paying for is tax. thanks Jen
