Collectable Coupons Giveaway!
Saturday, November 21, 2009
Have you checked out Collectable Coupons yet? This is one of the best online coupon purchasing sites out there. I have used several others in the past but in my opinion none compare to them. They offer same day shipping if your orders are placed by 5pm EST, plus you can even purchase whole inserts! I have ordered from them several times since I located their site. I have never had a problem with my order and it always arrives fast. That in itself is such a nice perk since we all want those coupons in hand to use on the current deal. Target New Coupon Policy
All good things have to come to an end. Target has now only allows you to print 2 Target coupons per computer. It is sad because these coupons come and go rather quickly but are still valid. So we would have to print and hang on to them I suppose. I'll bet the Up & Up wipes deal might have played a hand in making the switch. Not sure how this will effect the coupon generator sites out there.
Now this is a bit of a bummer but honestly now we don’t have to worry about entire shelves being emptied by one or two people. Also there will still be lots of great deals to go around- just not in the quantities we used to get. Target is still going to be one of my favorite stores and I love the deals I find there. Just think of this way, there are lots of people out there saving money.
Thanks MoneySavingMom!

Also most packs have coupons inside for even more savings. The ad states you must buy 2 and there is a limit of 3 per person. This is one to hurry to since in the past TRU diaper deals sell out fast!

Saving Money during the Holidays
Saturday, November 14, 2009
With money being extremely tight this year since my husband lost his job, we have been so grateful for deals and coupons. Luckily we already had most of the girls Christmas from toy deals from August til now. I don't think I am one to go 'All Out' compared to others, but being able to go out and enjoy the Christmas season without shopping is sometimes hard. The other day I went out with a friend to help her jump on the bargaining bandwagon and I really enjoyed watching her be so excited about the deal. All I bought was a box of kitchen trash bags.
A few things I have thought of that will help with keeping the holiday spending to a minimum.
1. Make your own gifts for teachers/neighbors - I know this is easier said than done, but it is worth it. The S'mores in a jar would be great with the holiday peeps. Last year I made bread/jam for friends and neighbors. It was a lot of work so I may do something a little less, like cookies but the whole spirit of Christmas is in the giving so it does not need to be much.
2. Recycle toys - Do you have kids with a bit of an age gap? My girls are 3 1/2 years apart. I am constantly going through the toys to box up the 'little toys' from my oldest. I learned this great tip from my sister. Last year I pulled out the Fisher Price barn with all the Little People for my daughter who had just turned one from Santa. My 4 year old said 'I used to have one like that too. Wow you will love it!' Little did she know it was hers. This year I have the Dora Magical Castle to give to the little one that has been in a box for two years. Now to get her watching Dora....
3. Date Nights - I am a firm believer in going out with your spouse at least a few times a month. You don't really have to 'do' anything, but at least be without kids for a while. I have a babysitting co-op with friends twice a month to give us 6 nights of free babysitting for 3 nights of hosting. But sometimes we just drop them off and stay at home. This holiday season might just be going for a walk looking at the neighborhood lights and enjoying some Hot Chocolate (hopefully Stephens but will have to see if I can find more down here). It is a win-win for having time together with little to no money out of pocket.
4. Outside Lights timer - I have to admit I have a little bit of 'Griswald' in me. I love to decorate the outside of the house with lights. But that can get for a pricey January power bill. I bought a little timer from Lowe's, which was somewhere in the $8 range and have my lights on a timer. Then they don't stay on all night and I still get to enjoy the lights without the shocking bill.
5. Holiday Music - I love listening to Christmas music but sometimes it gets expensive getting the extras. There is so much holiday music online right now that is free to download. My favorite is Jon Schmidt. He has 2 full hours of free holiday streaming music you can listen to while working on the computer.
6. Trade talents - I have many friends with the best talents. Photography, decorating, goodie making, graphic design and many many more. Think about your talents and do a trade. Swap pictures form custom made Christmas cards or something similar. You both get something free.
What holiday money saving thing do you do throughout the season? I would love to hear your ideas....

Wendy's and LeapFrog have teamed up together to offer up a great promotion. Buy a Wendy's Kids' Meal priced at $1.99, beginning November 9 and get one of five LeapFrog-inspired toys free!
The best part, according to one of my readers , is that on the Kids' meal bags are $5/1 Tag or Tag book coupons and inside the free toy bag is an additional $5/1 Leapster2 system or Leapster2 Game coupon! These coupons should make for some sweet deals when paired with the Target Leapfrog coupons available and possibly a price match deal or clearance find! Or even better, wait to use these on all the upcoming Black Friday deals!

I know there was some problems earlier with printing the Monsters coupon. Hopefully I fixed the problem. If not go to DisneyMovieRewards and enter the code 786936164886. It will then give you a link from there to print.
Guest Post from SD:
Just got back from my Target. Monsters had a $10 peelie when you buy both Up and Monsters. Since the first $10 is a store coupon I got to use the $10 off peelie, the $10 store coupon plus my $8 manuf off Monsters and my $10 manuf off Up. Plus I got to price match Best Buy. So target total for both movies $53.98 at register -Target combo coupon - $10 - Up Manuf coupon -$10 - Monster Manu coupon -8 **all at register*** Then I walked to cust service and - Peelie combo coupon - $10 *** at cust service*** - Price match - $10.76 ***at cust service**** I just paid $5.22 plus tax for both movies

Home Depot: Christmas Lights
Remember about the Christmas Light trade in program at Home Depot going on how through November 15?
Combine with This coupon (its on page 6) for $3 off any GE Energy Smart LED strand and it could equal some pretty cheap holiday lights. I couldn't find any on their website, but I'm sure they carry them so I can't tell you the price. If you happen to stop at Home Depot before me, I would love to know the price on these lights.
